Publications

Authored Spiritual Gifts, Your Job Description from God; The Seven Laws of Seven, Without Them Your Church Will Die; Who God Wants You To Reach; and Why and Where Do I Want To Plant A Church? All of these are available from Life Springs publishers, Franklin Springs, Georgia. He has also authored a step by step manual on how to plant churches titled: The Church Planter’s Manual, published by Evangelism USA, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This is currently used as the church planters guide for the IPHC denomination. He has authored many “self-help” books for pastor and churches. He has authored and been quoted in many articles in various publications, and has put together several study guides which are being used in the graduate schools where he has lectured.


Professional experience

He helped Regent University School of Divinity, Virginia, put together their first graduate, Distance Education coarse and was the director of that program for four years. He has been the guest lecturer for the King Memorial Lectures at Emmanuel College, Georgia. He is a sought after speaker in the area of church revitalization, planting and growth in most of the English speaking countries of the world and has been translated in five foreign countries.

He is a full professor and chairman of the department of Evangelism and Missions at SCU Graduate School, with concentrations in Church Revitalization, Planting and Growth, Urban Evangelism and Field Training. He still teaches modular courses at Regent University where he formally lectured for 7 years. He has taught at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky and at Olivet University in Kankakee, Illinois. Besides the above concentrations, he has taught courses in Administration, Leadership and Missions.

He is Director of City Quest (Church Planting) in Evangelism USA for the IPHC denomination.

He is also a consultant to churches and denominations around the world, including speaking at pastor conferences for S.B.C., A.G., Church of God of Prophecy, I.P.H.C. and Independent Churches.

He is a consultant to CBN and Global Television Syndication for Eastern Europe.

During college he worked in the hospital, in insurance, in radio, television and newspaper.

Professional memberships
He is president of CPR (Church Planting and Revitalization) Institute, also a member of the NCI (New Church Incubator), CRM (Church Resources Ministries) and CGI (Church Growth Institute).


Research

As president of the CPR Institute, he has done a statistical study of over 180,000 churches in the USA and Canada to determine why over 80% need to be revitalized and why less than 5% are rapidly growing.

While at Regent he, to train students, experimented with different ways of planting churches and planted a church a year. Of the churches he planted, two were independent, 3 were Baptist, 1 Assemblies of God and 1 an International Pentecostal Holiness. Currently, his is helping the IPHC plant several churches a year. Through some of these churches, he has started 4 day-cares, 3 schools and 2 Bible colleges.

Besides the research he has done for his doctorate dissertation, he is currently studying what causes some IPH churches to revitalize and he also has the ground work in place to study the common characteristics of successful church planting ventures.


Education

He has his doctorate, D.Min., from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, a Ph.D. in Evangelism and Church Revitalization, from the University of South Africa. His dissertation is titled: “Television as an Evangelistic Tool.” He also has M.Div., MA and BA degrees.


Pastoral experience

Simultaneously with the above mentioned positions, he has over the last 24 years, planted or pastored churches ranging from starting to over 1000 in attendance. The 7 churches he pastored, he had to revitalize. There are 6 other churches he directly planted or helped plant from these.


Honors and awards

He has been the key note speaker at camp meetings, crusades and at the distinguished King Memorial Lectures at Emmanuel College.

He has received 4 different awards for pastoring the fastest growing churches or for being effective at church revitalization.

He received, from the faculty of Regent University in 1995, the “Dedication and Faithful Service Award.”

He appeared on CBN and CNN television and on the “On Line” radio network program.
